RUN X™, the first 5 km World Treadmill Championship, is kicking off
The first indoor running competition, involving athletes, amateurs, and beginners in fitness centers around the world, to define a new e-sports discipline. Running is the most practiced sport in the world, but in recent years the way people experience it has profoundly changed: no longer just individual performance, but experience, belonging, well-being, data, and connection. RUN X™ embodies these values with the goal of making running an inclusive, engaging, and ongoing experience for runners of all levels worldwide.
What is RUN X?
Created by Technogym and World Athletics, RUN X brings runners around the world together through a 5K treadmill competition. You can complete an official, certified 5K at Waterside and see your result on a global leaderboard. It’s open to anyone aged 18 and over, with male and female competitions and dedicated age categories. You don’t have to be fast to take part. Your goal might be finishing the distance, building confidence or beating your own best time.
RUN X at Waterside
Waterside is now an official RUN X affiliated centre, and you can start training today for the world’s first 5K treadmill championship.
Our official launch is Friday 23 October, when you can record your first qualification time. You’ll also have the opportunity to record a qualification time on Saturday 24 October. Whether your goal is to complete your first 5K, improve your time or enjoy a new challenge, now is the perfect time to get started.
